- Abstract:
- Ziel der Arbeit war die Implementierung einer prospektiven Kohortenstudie (IMMUC-Studie) zu Biomarkern und Ursachen der komplizierten EBV-assoziierten Infektiösen Mononukleose (EBV-IM). Die Pilotkohorte (n = 50, Alter 3 bis 31 Jahre) lieferte wichtige Daten zu Epidemiologie und klinischem Bild der IM in Deutschland und ebnete den Weg für die IMMUC-Gesamtstudie (n = 200), deren Ziel eine verbesserte Diagnostik, Therapie und Prävention der komplizierten und/oder protrahierten EBV-IM ist.

- Aim of the work was the implementation of a prospective cohort study (IMMUC study) on biomarkers and causative factors of complicated EBV-associated infectious mononucleosis (EBV-IM). The pilot cohort (n = 50, age 3 to 31 years) provided important data on epidemiology and clinical features of IM in Germany and paved the way for the IMMUC full study (n = 200) which aims at the identification of novel approaches to the diagnosis, therapy and prevention of complicated and/or protracted EBV-IM.
