Die Bestimmung der sonographischen Sacral Ratio ist eine schnell lern- und durchführbare sowie gut reproduzierbare Methode, um die Entwicklung und Größenverhältnisse des sakrokokzygealen Gefüges bei Neugeborenen zu untersuchen. Die Untersuchung kann zeit- und kostensparend im Rahmen ohnehin notwendiger Früherkennungsmaßnahmen stattfinden und geht somit für die Kinder als auch für die Eltern ohne zusätzliche Belastung einher. Die Anwendbarkeit bei Kindern mit anorektalen Fehlbildungen sowie ihr klinischer Nutzen müssen allerdings in weiterführenden, multizentrischen Studien eruiert werden.     «

The sonographic Sacral Ratio is a method to evaluate the development and quantify the proportions of the sacrum and coccyx in newborns. It is quick, easy to learn and easy to reproduce. The examination can take place in the context of routine checkups in order to save time and resources and therefore without further stress for patients and their parents. Its applicability on infants with anorectal malformations as well as its clinical value have to be evaluated in further multicentric prospective studies.     «
