Translated abstract:
This study investigates the available diagnostic tools in the diagnosis of (partial) rupture of the small gluteal muscles. In particular the predictive power of conventional X-ray imaging to the presence of a (partial) rupture of the Mm. gluteus medius and minimus was examined. A secondary data analysis was performed. The statistical analysis of the data shows with great significance that the conventional radiological evidence of an exostosis in the area of the greater trochanter has a high predictive power for the presence and extent of a (partial) rupture of the small gluteal muscles.
