Abstract:

The aim of this study is to analyse the potential superiority of PET/MR as new imaging modality compared to the standard technique PET/CT for the diagnosis of recurrent prostate cancer. Therefore 75 patients were examined using 11C-Choline PET/MR imaging in addition to the conventional 11C-Choline PET/CT imaging. Data indicate that a fully diagnostic PET/MR protocol for restaging of recurrent prostate cancer offers a higher detection rate for local recurrences and significantly reduces radiation exposure for the patient.
