The goal of this dissertation was to resume research in the area of sports informatics and to develop an interdisciplinary and applied approach for SIS. Existing terms, models and methods of training science and computer science were identified and adapted for the implementation of SIS. This resulted in a new and elaborate complex structural model of the subject area of training science. Four individual publications provided an architectural concept for SIS, two use cases, and a review of existing commercial SIS.
