Extraktion of plant-ingredients with supercritical carbon dioxide, called supercritical fluid Extraktion (SFE) has been established in the sixties. This method provides the possibility to enrich defined ingredients of plants in the produced extracts. A remaining problem is the limited solubility of polar or polymer substances in supercritical CO2. Therefore, the following thesis had two aims. The possibilities of SFE should be expanded towards more polar substances and, in a second step, undesired substances, which may cause negative side-effects, should be removed from the extracts by adsorptive processes during the extraction. The tested plant-material was Camellia sinensis, Calendula officinalis L. and Piper methystikum.
