A new cathode strip detector for the focal plane of the Munich Q3D magnetic spectrograph has been constructed. At an active length of 890 mm it produces spectra with a position determination better than 0.1 mm without systematic errors. The nuclear structure of 129Te has been investigated via measurement of gamma-gamma coincidences after thermal neutron capture at the research reactor in Rez near Prague and via one-particle transfer reactions at the accelerator laboratory in Munich. Non-statistical effects like the direct neutron capture and the strong isomer population could be veryfied and explained, respectively. The detailed experimental level scheme is compared to theoretical models (IBFM, QPM).
