The continuously embedded rail is one option of ballastless track, where the rail is fixed by an elastic polymer material, which is poured between the rail and a trough within the concrete track. Theoretical approaches and extensive calculations and tests have analysed the temperature behaviour, the function of the bonding and the deformation on bridge joints of this superstructure. The following topics have been examined: rail breakage, rail warping, loss of bonding, discontinuity in rail support, deformation of bridge structures, maximum expansion length of bridge structures.
