In 2015, the United Nations identified 17 global goals to make the world more sustainable and equitable. One of the goals is to promote responsible production while preserving land. My research focused on how biodiversity affects ecosystem functions in grasslands. I found that species richness and functional group richness positively impact ecosystem functions, challenging the assumption of a trade-off between biodiversity and agricultural production. My study provides insights that can contribute to achieving sustainable land use and responsible consumption.     «

Im Jahr 2015 haben die Vereinten Nationen 17 globale Ziele identifiziert, um die Welt nachhaltiger und gerechter zu machen. Eines der Ziele besteht darin, eine verantwortungsvolle Produktion zu fördern und gleichzeitig Land zu schonen. Der Schwerpunkt meiner Forschung lag auf der Frage, wie Biodiversität Ökosystemfunktionen im Grasland beeinflusst. Ich fand heraus, dass sich Artenreichtum und Reichtum an funktionellen Gruppen positiv auf die Ökosystemfunktionen auswirken und die Annahme eines Konflikts zwischen Biodiversität und landwirtschaftlicher Produktion in Frage stellen. Meine Studie liefert Erkenntnisse, die zu einer nachhaltigen Landnutzung und einem verantwortungsvollen Konsum beitragen können.     «
