Coated iron oxide nanoparticles (IONs) are promising candidates for various applications in nanomedicine, including imaging, magnetic hyperthermia, and drug delivery. The application of IONs in nanomedicine is influenced by factors such as biocompatibility, surface properties, agglomeration, degradation behavior, and thrombogenicity.
