Sensitivity of the eigenvalues of the system with respect to its structural parameters can be
used in various fields, such as structural optimization, model updating, model order reduc-
tion, or structural maintenance. Nevertheless, its applicability could be limited to only linear
systems, if the change of the initial structural state is not taken into account. The purpose
of the thesis is to implement a method for the calculation of eigenvalue sensitivities for non-
linear structures using the FEM-based open-source software Kratos Multiphysics. Sensitivity
calculation is implemented using an adjoint approach, as the sensitivity of only one objec-
tive function, namely eigenvalue, is considered with respect to various parameters. In the
scope of this project, adjoint sensitivity implementation is validated and applied to a nonlinear
structural system at a certain operational state.
