Abstract:
With the increase of flexible loads such as stationary energy storage systems (SESS) and electric vehicles (EV), a new door is open to benefit from such flexibility to avoid expensive grid expansion, curtailment and increase self consumption by supporting with local generation/consumption balancing. The agent-based simulation framework implemented in this work shows a promising potential for grid operators to overcome these challenges by taking an active role in regional energy markets.
