SOFTNET - Software Engineering for Soft Networking

In this paper we describe the work within the SOFTNET project. New technical challenges on the one hand and constraints on the other hand demand concepts for a methodical service engineering for information and communication networks. Goal of SOFTNET is the development of a comprehensive concept for service engineering based on a specified engineering process, a component-based system architecture, and accompanying economical models. The main focus is on methods for service development and the interworking of distributed, mobile systems and components in a heterogeneous environment, particularly automobile environments.     «
