Abstract:
The influence of the position offset of a vehicle within a single lane of an Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)-based free-flow tolling system is analyzed. Its performance when using two windshield tags is compared to the case when only one tag is used. It turns out that one tag is enough to hold the number of reads at an acceptable level even if only half of the vehicle is on the considered lane.
