The figure shows a 3-D view AFM image of a cylinder forming PS-b-PMMA composite thin film (PMMA phase etched) with functionalized CdS nanoparticles processed using a dynamic Cold Zone Annealing-Sharp (CZA-S) method. On page 604 (DOI: 10.1002/polb.23684), Saumil Samant, Shimelis T. Hailu, Abdullah M. Al-Enizi, Alamgir Karim, and Dharmaraj Raghavan report the addition of CdS nanoparticles leads to an orientation flip from vertically oriented cylinders in neat film to almost parallel cylinders in 5 wt.% loaded film, which is attributed to increased long-range order of cylinders in horizontal direction by bending around the nanoparticles than in vertical direction, which is confined by film thickness. However, increasing the CZA-S sweep rate partially restores the vertical order in filled films due to more aggressive vertically orienting forces.
