The coefficients of friction, determined by experimental testing on concrete pavements, essentially depend on the type of base layer and the size of the longitudinal displacement of the concrete slabs on the base layer. The longitudinal displacements of concrete slabs at the end of the pavement and the length of end sections as well as the distribution of the tension in the concrete pavement were investigated by theoretical calculations and FEM-simulations. The impact on practice was also evaluated.
