Due to time and costs constraints, the complete transformation of the production process control is extremely difficult to achieve. For this reason, new solutions appear, built on legacy systems to provide a migration path from old to new CPPS conform structures and are designed to increase the flexibility of existing control methods. To make systems self‐adaptable to unexpected disturbances, product structure changes or business competition, the intelligent autonomous industry control systems, are used. Hence, this paper proposes the universal, flexible, intelligent approach based on multi‐agents. In addition, multi‐agent systems (MAS) application enable the end products to be customized according to the desires of the customers. In the paper, the evaluation criteria, an extended view of the design criteria, which was developed together with experts´ members of the technical committee 5.15 \grqqAgent systems” of the Society Measurement and Automatic Control (GMA) within the Society of German Engineers (VDI) and German Electrical Engineers (VDE) is presented. Finally, the proposed unified architecture is evaluated according to the new proposed classification table.
