Growing numbers of electric cars as well as electric heating systems become a challenge for distribution system operators. Focus of this study is the elicitation and modelling of typical grids to identify critical grid loads and the systematic comparison of 16 grid-optimizing measures. A systematic comparison of technical, ecological and economic criteria is carried out and aggregated, using three-phase annual simulations. Besides conventional grid expansion, adjustable transformers and reactive power management suit for low voltage grids.
