Abstract:
The therapy of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is uncomplicated in most cases. However, 20 % of GERD patients suffer from reflux-associated symptoms under therapy with proton pump inhibitors (PPI). The cause of this resistance to PPI-therapy remains unclear.
