A model for dispersion in porous media based on a stochastic velocity process is presented. The model utilizes probability density functions and conditional statistics of pore scale velocity increments to determine the drift and diffusion parts in velocity space. The velocity statistics are obtained by solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations in the pore space of a random sphere pack. The validity of the model is investigated for the transport of a passive tracer in a channel and in a sphere pac...
