Abstract:
Quantum cascade lasers exploit optical transitions between quantized electronic energy levels in multi‐quantum‐well structures for light generation and detection. This design principle enables the realization of compact, semiconductor‐based lasers in the mid‐infrared and terahertz spectral regions.
