In the first chapter of this thesis established convertible linear structural systems are studied on the basis of examples. Furthermore their functionality and structural behavior is characterized and researched. In the second part an innovative mechanism is drafted, which is deployable and flexibly shapeable at the same time. Through structural analysis and prototypes the bearing capacity and the functionality of the new system is investigated. In the last part the potential of applications by means of experimental drafts is identified.
