Ösophagusvarizen sind eine häufige Komplikation der Leberzirrhose. Die Ösophagusvarizenblutung (ÖVB) wird kompliziert durch Reblutung und Neuinfektionen und hat eine hohe Mortalität. Anhand 82 ÖVB von 2004 bis 2010 evaluierte diese Studie die Leitlinien-Adhärenz auf Intensiv- und Normalstation sowie Risikofaktoren der Reblutung und Neuinfektion. Terlipressingabe, Antibiotikaprophylaxe, Transfusion,Kompressionssondenanlage sowie endoskopische Ligatur erfolgten auf der Intensivstation leitliniengerechter als auf der Normalstation. Mit einer Reblutung waren hoher MELD Score, Terlipressingabe und Fehlen endoskopische Ligatur assoziiert, mit der Neuinfektion die Antibiotikaprophylaxe.     «

Esophageal varices are frequent complication of liver cirrhosis. Acute esophageal varical bleeding (EVB) is complicated by rebleeding and infection. It carries a high mortality. This study evaluated 82 episodes of EVB between 2004 and 2010 with regard to adherence to practice guidelines and risk factors for rebleeding and infection comparing patients of intensive care unit (ICU) and normal ward. Application of terlipressin, antibiotic prophylaxis, transfusion, treatment with shunt implantation and endoscopic banding were more common in the ICU than on normal ward. Application of terlipressin, higher MELD score and failture of endoscopic banding were associated with rebleeding. Antibiotic prophylaxis was associated with increases risk of infection.     «
