This retrospective case-control study compares women with congenital heart disease to healthy population, including course of pregnancy, mode of delivery, maternal and neonatal outcome.
For categorization of capacity of the cardiac patients, a classification in function classes was done. Depending on the capicity, difficulties and complications were associated with congenital heart disease.
With an optimal medical care during the pregnancy, within a specialised and interdisciplinary team in an adequate centre, very good results for mother and child can be received.
