This thesis develops two models on the consequences of trust within entrepreneurial teams. Drawing on quantitative data from 112 founders representing 60 different entrepreneurial teams, both the cognitive and the affective dimension of trust within teams emerge as important antecedents for team performance and decision quality, where the cognitive dimension exhibits stronger effects. These relationships are mediated by team processes, and the mediation mechanisms are contingent on the presence of individuals' learning goal orientation and positive affect.
