Abstract:: This paper concentrates on the product development and focuses on target costing in mass customization. The paper proposes implementation of a target costing model and discusses the differences to ‘conventional’ target costing. The second part of this paper is the presentation of a cost estimation tool that has been developed for estimating the design and production process-costs during the product adaptation.
