This thesis describes the development of a new technique for the online measurement of oil dilution at combustion engines at steady state and transient engine operation. The oil dilution analysis is accomplished by means of determination of the components of the fuel-oil-mixture through separation of the components based on their different boiling points in combination with the analysis of the substance-specific molecules. Besides the total analysis of the fuel by means of a flame ionization detector the application of a mass spectrometer allows a selective analysis of individual molecules for a detailed investigation of the fuel components in the engine oil.
