The development process of modern mechatronic production systems is characterised by the interaction of mechanical, electrical and software engineering. In this regard, the control software plays a vital role and is becoming increasingly important. Within this doctoral thesis a new method has been developed, which supports a parallel development process scheme. Additionally, simulation models for the control software test can be generated semi-automatically. The mentioned method is based on a functional model, which is built-up at the beginning of the development process by all involved disciplines. Subsequently, models for so-called „virtual commissioning“ can be derived automatically from the functional model. Furhtermore, models with a higher level of detail can be obtained by a semi-automatic integration of CAD data.
