Die zu beherrschende Komplexität der Erstellung von Publikationsanwendungen ist in den letzten Jahren deutlich gestiegen. Durch diese Komplexität wurde die erfolgreiche Erstellung von Publikationsanwendungen erheblich schwieriger. Die Arbeit entwickelt auf Basis einer umfassenden Analyse von Einsatzszenarien eine Software-Architektur, die besonders der Modifizierbarkeit Rechnung trägt. Hierfür wird ein Meta-Modell eingeführt, wodurch die Anpassbarkeit an veränderte Anforderungen unterstützt wird. Die Arbeit trägt zu einem tieferen und umfasserenden Verständnis des Fachgebiets des elektronischen Publizierens bei. Sie hebt das das Fachwissen auf eine höhere Ebene und eröffnet Perspektiven für die Gestaltung von zukünftigen Publikationssystemen, weg von spezialisierten, spezifischen Publikationssystemen hin zu einer allgemeinen Verwendbarkeit und der Bewahrung und Weiterentwicklung des erworbenen Wissens.     «

The complexity of building publishing applications has considerably increased in recent years. Due to this complexity successfully building publishing applications has become vastly more difficult. This thesis develops a software architecture based on an extensive analysis of usage scenarios which especially accomodates modifiability. To aid in this, it intorduces a meta model which additionally supports the adaption to changed requirements. This thesis contributes to a deeper and wider understanding of the field of electronic publishing. It lifts the expert knowledge to a higher level and opens new perspectives of building publishing systems in the future, leaving behind specialized and idiosyncratic publishing systems and heading towards a generic reusability and preservation and enhancement of acquired knowledge.     «
