- Omnidirektionale Laufplattformen ermöglichen das zweidimensionale Bewegen einer Versuchsperson im Raum. Durch entsprechendes Tracking und Visualisierung kann damit eine virtuelle Welt beschritten werden. Die Arbeit widmet sich der Konstruktion von omnidirektionalen Laufplattformen, wobei drei Typen im Detail untersucht und zwei davon realisiert werden. Der "Cybercarpet" als Prototyp einer Kugelplattform. Der "Cyberwalk" als manntragende Laufplattform mit 4,6x4,6 m Lauffläche.
- Translated abstract:
- Omnidirectional treadmills realize two dimensional motions of a test person in virtual space. By using tracking and visualization techniques the person can walk through a virtual world. This thesis describes the construction of omnidirectional treadmills, where three types ara analyzed in detail, two of them are realized. The "Cybercarpet" is a prototype of a ball bearing platform. The "Cyberwalk" is the full scale implementation of a 4.6 x 4.6 m omnidirectional treadmill.
