This study involves implementation of Puck and Tsai-Wu failure criteria for FRP in in-house FEA program of Lehrstuhl für Statik (TUM): Carat++. Failure analyses of several geometries and loading conditions, using a certain material (IM7/8551-7) will be presented and the differences of the theories in the sense of implementation and calculation of failure conditions are going to be discussed. Chapter 2 introduces the damage and failure types of a FRP composite stucture briefly, in order to remind the necessary background. Chapter 3 is aiming to explain the implemented failure criteria. They are going to be explained in detail as much in detail as implementation and requirements of the study needs. Chapter 4 expresses step by step how the failure criteria are implemented into the program, how they are used in the calculation of failure conditions and how an input sequence should be formed in order to perform a failure analysis for FRP materials. Chapter 5 presents the results of the performed analyses with comparisons between failure criteria and types of stress states. At the end an outlook is given for further developers..
