The current work contributes to the numerical analysis of wind-induced structural response. One of the main parts deals with the review and further development of statistical quantification methods. The effect of possible relevant parameters is studied and further algorithms are implemented. Emphasis is put on the extreme value analysis of quantities important for structural design. The other part outlines methods of passive wind-load mitigation techniques with a main focus on the effect of shape. The review is accompanied by a shape-study of bluff-bodies carried out in a wind-tunnel further aided by numerical simulations.
