- This bachelor thesis introduces the Principal Component Analysis as a dimension reduction technique. In the first two chapters the principal components are defined and properties which are important for dimension reduction are derived. Subsequently, the Principal Component Analysis is applied to companies listed in the DAX30 and the results are interpreted. In addition, Principal Component Analysis is implemented through an independently coded function in MATLAB.
