A method for a stochastic treatment of noisy electromagnetic fields is presented. A complete description of stochastic electromagnetic fields is given by the autocorrelation spectrum of the different field variables and the cross correlation spectra of the field variables evaluated for distinct observation points. By considering arbitrary correlations between the noise radiation sources, the spatial distribution of the spectral energy density can be computed. The auto and cross correlation spectra of the far field are computed from the auto- and cross-correlation spectra of the source distribution.
