A mobile time of flight-mass spectrometer, able to analyse gas samples with the help of three different ionization techniques (REMPI, SPI and EI), was developed and successfully tested at an incineration plant. On-line analyses of different incineration processes (tobacco and waste) show different applications of the new system. In connection with the measurements at the incineration plant a newly developed standard gas generator for quantification and a high temperature sampling probe are described. Further a new SPI-mass spectrometer, based on an electron beam-pumped excimer lamp, is introduced.
