Konrad Zuse konzipierte in seinen letzten Lebensjahren den Helixturm, einen Automaten, der einen Teil seiner Bauelemente kontinuierlich zu einem Turm aus- oder einfährt. Das erste Funktionsmodell ist in der Diplomarbeit beschrieben, dokumentiert und wurde wieder in Funktion gesetzt. Die Hintergründe der Entwicklung durch Konrad Zuse sind durch Auswertung von Archivalien und Zeitzeugenberichten dargestellt. Es werden der HT2, eine weiterentwickelte, nicht mehr gebaute Konstruktion, und zwei um die Anwendung auf Windkraftanlagen erweiterte Patente von Konrad Zuse beschrieben. Abschließend sind im Deutschen Patent- und Markenamt vorliegende Erfindungsanmeldungen zu höhenvariablen Konstruktionen erläutert, um die technische Innovation des Helixturms herauszuheben. Es wird ein Bezug hergestellt zu automatisierten Hochbaustellen.     «

Konrad Zuse designed during the last years of his life the helix tower, an automaton, which continually extends and retracts parts of its structural elements to form a tower. The first functional model is described, documented and set into operation again in this thesis. The circumstances and the background of the development of the helix tower can be deduced from archives as well as reports from contemporary witnesses. The HT2, a further developed, however no longer built construction, as well as two patents, extended by the application in wind power plants, are also described. Finally inventions of height adjustable constructions, which applications have been made for at the German patent and trade marks office, are also explained in order to point out the technical innovation of the helix tower.     «
