Supplier Integration in Product Development: a Search for Existing Approaches in other Industries

To stay competitive, companies strive to improve the efficiency of their product development processes. The supplier integration in product development plays an important role for this, but concepts for the operational management are missing. The literature review identified the Integrated Project Delivery approach from the construction sector as promising. This paper analyses and transfers the approach it into the mechanical engineering domain. The expert evaluation of the derived approach shows that the supplier involvement could be improved through it and the integrated incentive system.     «
