Internetbasierte Ideen Communities stellen im Sinne des Open Innovation Paradigmas ein verbreitetes Werkzeug zur Kundenintegration in Innovationsprozesse von Unternehmen dar, ermöglichen in aktuellen Ausprägungen jedoch kaum die Zusammenarbeit ihrer Mitglieder bei der Ideenentwicklung. Die gestaltungsorientierte Dissertation begegnet dieser Problemstellung durch die theoriegetriebene Entwicklung von Entwurfsmustern zur technischen und organisatorischen Ausgestaltung virtueller Ideen Community Plattformen mit dem Fokus auf einer gezielten Unterstützung kollaborativer Ideengenerierung. Die Anwendbarkeit der Entwurfsmuster sowie ihr positiver Einfluss auf die Qualität gemeinschaftlich entwickelter Ideen werden anhand von Instanziierungen in einer im Rahmen der Arbeit entwickelten und pilotierten Ideen Community Plattform empirisch belegt. Die Ergebnisse der Arbeit können Entwicklern die kognitive Last erleichtern, eine sinnvolle und problemlösende Auswahl an Gestaltungselementen zur Konzeption virtueller Ideen Communities zu treffen um so das kollaborative Potenzial der Gemeinschaft zu erschließen.     «

Internet based idea communities are a widespread tool for integrating stakeholders into the innovation processes of companies following the open innovation paradigm. Nevertheless, existing idea communities hardly support their members in collaborative ideation. This thesis tries to solve this problem by developing reusable design patterns for the technical and organizational design of idea community platforms focussing on the support of collaborative idea development. Empirical and experimental research is used to show the overall usability of the developed patterns and in particular their positive effects on the quality of collaboratively developed ideas. Therefore, the patterns are instantiated within an idea community platform implemented in the course of this research. The findings of this thesis can help developers of Internet based idea community platforms to choose a reasonable and effective set of design elements in order to leverage the collaborative capabilities of the crowd.     «
