Abstract:
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) plays an important role in non-immunocompetent patients due to its high seroprevalence and life-long persistence. However, cases of severe CMV infections are also described in the immunocompetent. Here in particular, the gastrointestinal involvement is of major importance.
