Das Automobil hat seit seiner Erfindung einen enormen Wandel vom reinen Transportmittel hin zu einem Fahrzeug vollzogen, das mit den verschiedensten technischen Systemen für Sicherheit und Komfort und einer Vielzahl von sensorischen und aktuatorischen Fähigkeiten ausgestattet ist. Die vorliegende Arbeit widmet sich diesem Trend zur Entwicklung kognitiver Automobile. Im Mittelpunkt stehen dabei die Analyse und Exploration von drei wichtigen Forschungs- und Entwicklungsaspekten im Rahmen der automobilen Informationserfassung und -verarbeitung: das Management des situativen Kontexts, die Analyse und Interpretation vorhandenen Wissens und die erweiterte Erfassung und Modellierung des Fahrerverhaltens. Die vorliegende Arbeit liefert eine integrative Betrachtung und praktische Umsetzung dieser Lösungsansätze, von denen jeder für sich einen Beitrag zu einer konsequenten Weiterentwicklung kognitiver Automobile liefert.     «

Since their invention cars have made a decent change of intent from pure means of transportation to a vehicle equipped with a diversity of safety and comfort systems including advanced sensory and actuatory capabilitites. The work deals with this trend of developing cognitive vehicles. Its main focus rests on the analysis and exploration of important research and development issues within the scope of automotive information acquisition and processing: context management, analysis and interpretation of knowledge and the extended acquisition and modelling of drivers' behaviour.
