BACKGROUND: Based on epidemiological (HPV status, smoking habits) and clinical risk factors (T/N stage), three subgroups of patients suffering from locally advanced oropharyngeal carcinoma with significantly different outcome after concurrent chemoradiation (cCRTX) can be distinguished.
