Based on long-term experimental plot data in Europe, national forest inventory data from the USA and Germany, and simulated forest stand data based on forest types in Germany, the interactions between forest stand structure, tree species composition, and stand productivity were analysed. Potential effects of climate, spatial scale, stand development, and silvicultural mangement were included to examine the interactions between forest stand structure, tree species composition, and stand productivity in a broad context.
