Submerse macrophytes can be used as indicators for lake water quality. To detect and classify the bankside populations from optical remote sensing data, reference measurements in the field are necessary. The plant phenology and external factors require systematic ascertainments in the course of day and year. The work concerns with methods, to systematically measure and process spectral reflectances of the plants and with the influencing factors on these data. Furthermore, a spectral library was developed.
