Als raumzeitliches und zunächst anwendungsneutrales Informationsmodell der Kulturlandschaft beschreibt das LandModell grundlegende Landschaftskomponenten einschließlich der verschiedenen Facetten ihrer zeitlichen Fortentwicklung. Auf Basis eines daraus abgeleiteten Informationssystems werden verschiedene Werkzeuge zur Analyse diverser Aspekte der Kulturlandschaft entwickelt. Diese beschäftigen sich mit der Erkennung und Analyse zeitlicher Veränderungen, mit der Beschreibung von Parzellenformen, mit der Ableitung von Hof-Feld-Transportpfaden, mit der Analyse und Bewertung der Verkehrserschließung von Parzellen und der Konzeption von Kernwegesystemen.     «

As a spatio-temporal and application independent information model of the cultural landscape, the LandModel describes basic landscape components including the various facets of their development over time. On the basis of an information system derived from this model, various tools for the analysis of different aspects of the cultural landscape are developed. These deal with the recognition and analysis of temporal changes, with the description of parcel shapes, with the derivation of farm-field transportation paths, with the analysis and evaluation of the connection of parcels to the to the road network and the conception of core road systems.     «
