Telemedical systems can be a part of the solution of modern healthcare systems’ problems by making these more effective and efficient. However, the diffusion of such systems is rather low. The missing acceptance of the most important user groups represents a substantial barrier. This thesis contributes to the understanding of the intention to use such systems. We develop acceptance models for the physicians’ as well as the patients’ side, empirically test them and derive implications. As a result, the thesis is a pleading for a user-centric approach.
