The increase in commercial production of fullerenes accelerates concerns about their potential toxicity.
In this study, we investigate that C60 itself does not show any induction of EROD activity in rat liver H4IIE cells, in vitro. We found elevated EROD response in PCB 126-fullerenes co-exposure system, as well in sequential exposure of PCB126. We explore the interaction of organic nanoparticles (Fullerene, Fullerenol and Printex®90) with dopaminergic system in PC12 cells and Tetrahymena thermophila SB210¬-at phenotypic and genotypic level.
