The objective of this work is the further development of a retrofitting system in which the air ducting for a central residential ventilation system is integrated directly into the façade insulation. Using an integral approach, this work develops a methodology for determining and optimizing the performance of the system. For this purpose, the operating performance of the system on a real building is examined with an analysis of the measurement data and the flow characteristics of the integrated air ducts is determined hydraulically. Based on thermal-hydraulic coupled simulations, a model for the refurbishment system will be developed to enable the application of the system also for multi-storey buildings.
