Abstract:
Ischaemia followed by reperfusion (I/R) can induce inflammation and injury and is a risk factor for delayed graft function and rejection of transplanted kidneys. Inflammation is regulated by NF-kappaB transcription factors which induce pro-inflammatory molecules in endothelial cells (EC).
