Das humane UTY Gen ist von wachsendem interdisziplinärem Interesse für die Erforschung der H3K27-Demethylierung, der Evolution Y-chromosomaler Gene und, bezüglich der translationellen Medizin, für die Immuntherapie von Leukämien. Über das UTY Gen ist wenig bekannt. Diese Doktorarbeit integriert die neuesten Ergebnisse aus Grundlagenforschung, bioinformatischer Analyse und translationeller Forschung. Ein neues `UTY-splicing-phenomenon´ wurde entdeckt, dass die höchste theoretische Transkriptdiversität umfasst. Ergebnisse der weiteren Charakterisierung sind, ein Modell zur Transkriptregulation, die Identifikation neuer Protein-Interaktoren sowie neue Ansichten zur UTY Evolution und möglicher H3K27-Demethylase Regulation. Zusätzlich werden neue Kandidaten-Peptide für eine künftige Immuntherapie der Leukämie gezeigt.
