Vertex Morphing is a robust node-based shape optimization method. This thesis introduces two approaches to improve the performance of Vertex Morphing on beam-like structures with hollow profile. Centerline Optimization reformulates the shape control technique by using the centerline as the control parameters. Axial Filtering suggests an alternative weight computation method for filtering that is suited for beam-like structures. The Heat Method to compute geodesic distance is used to extract the centerline. The developed approaches are implemented in Kratos Multiphysics and tested with two test cases.
